As the desire to make professional videos continues to rise, we continue to have conversations with customers and prospects about how they can automate video creation to reach organizational goals. If you’re reading this, you probably want to do the same. Great. We’re here to help. First, we’ll cover a couple ways video online is helpful to healthcare in general. Then, we’ll share how Storyvine is helpful specifically. Before we get started on either, please note: When we say “healthcare” we mean most of that ecosystem: Pharma (big and small), Providers (devices and doctors), Insurance Partners and Patients, among others.
Ways to Use Video Storytelling:
Insightful Profiles - Using video to profile doctors versus sharing their written bio gives prospective patients a better sense of who the doctor is, how they communicate and what their vibe is. This gives patients more comfort that they’re choosing the best fit. These videos work best when they’re a minute or less, and you can use the same approach and a similar format for other marketing assets, including patient education videos and peer-to-peer pieces where Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) share insights on conditions and/or treatments.
Engaging Patient Experiences - Sharing progress via video at different stages of a patient’s journey can be emotional and impactful. These videos are some of the longer healthcare-focused videos and are often as long as seven minutes, depending on what is being shared over what timeframe. For example, you could do one piece that covers one patient’s journey from start to finish, or you could share the journey in stages: “Diagnosis Journey”, “Treatment Journey” and “The Life-After Journey” to focus on how to manage the condition.
How Storyvine Powers Video Storytelling
Truth be told, you can do most of the above with different types of video technology. We encourage you to try what you can - Video is powerful, so share it however you can. But we’d be remiss if we didn’t let you know how Storyvine can power the above ideas and so many more. First off, our technology enables structured storytelling. Our Guided Video templates lead people to answer specific but open-ended questions; so participants don’t have to be expert storytellers, they just have to tell their own story, their own way. This is especially helpful with healthcare-focused videos because oftentimes the content is deeply personal - Providing a structure helps keep the narrative on track, no matter what emotions are racing.
Storyvine empowers you to collect and share not just one great profile or story, but MANY great profiles and stories. We can capture any story, at any time, from any location - As long as the participant has a phone. Think about that. Any story. Any time. Any location. Now, if you think about that for more than a minute, you’ll likely think, “Oh no, what a nightmare to ensure these videos are compliant.” Not to worry. For the heavily-regulated healthcare industry, Storyvine’s platform helps maintain compliance with built-in processes and tools to ensure proper permissions are granted at each stage. Once you know a video is compliant, they’re ready to share.
We hope these tips are helpful, and that they give you ideas on how to use video - Storyvine or otherwise - to cultivate storytelling. In healthcare especially, the human connection is key. And video cements the human connection in a way that static words on a page just can’t. Consider the possibilities, and let us know what you’d like to explore. Or, I recently discussed some of the above - plus specific customer examples - in Karen Jagoada’s “Empowered Patient Podcast” - Take a listen if you want to dive even deeper before calling us.
